Jean Gendre

My aunt’s grandfather, Jean Gendre, was a champion javelin thrower growing up. Reconstructing France after WW2, he fell off a ladder and was paralyzed. He was told he would never walk again. His sons built him a stationary bike and after a lot of effort, pain, and discipline he was able to walk again with a cane.
