Naomi Parker Fraley, born in Oklahoma in 1921, was the 3rd of 8 children. After the attack on Pearl Harbor, she joined a Navy manufacturer at just 20 years old during WW2. Assigned to the machine shop, her duties included riveting. Naomi is the real-life inspiration behind the icon Rosie the Riveter, who symbolized the tireless US war effort.
