American Worker

Labor Day was made a holiday for federal employees in 1894 by President Cleveland and was made a universal holiday by all 50 states in the 1930s after the American labor movement gained political strength. Today American strength is built upon people like nurses, construction workers and mechanics who keep everyday life functioning.
