Shane Van Boening

Shane Van Boening aka the “South Dakota Kid” was born 97% deaf in Rapid City, SD. He received his first pool cue at age 2 and pool halls were where he would find comfort when kids bullied him because of his condition. Today, he is a two-time world champion at billiards. He turns his hearing aids off during matches to focus.
