Nicolaus Copernicus

Nicolaus Copernicus was a polymath who made contributions to many fields during the Scientific Revolution. He is best known for theorizing that the earth revolved around the sun instead of the other way around. His theory was radical in his day and he risked being ostracized from the church, academia, and society by advocating for it.
