Barbra Jordan

Barbra Jordan was a 3-term congresswoman from TX. Jordan grew up in Houston’s 5th Ward before earning a law degree. She was the first African American elected to the TX Senate after Reconstruction and the first Southern African-American woman elected to the US House. Jordan is well-known today for her unimplemented work on immigration reform.
